ABC Radio Rebrands As ABC Audio, Promotes Heidi Oringer And Abe Velez

ABC RADIO has changed its brand to ABC AUDIO, VP/GM STACIA PHILIPS DESHISHKU told the staff in a note this morning.

In the memo, DESHISHKU said, "Today, we're making official what has increasingly been done in practice -- the use of ABC AUDIO in place of ABC RADIO as our umbrella brand." DESHISHKU called the change "a natural evolution of our branding" and cited an improv comedy rule -- "It says 'yes, and…' -- in describing the change's effect on perception of the product. "(T)his is as much a commitment to our listeners that they will find our storytelling anytime and everywhere, as it is to you that your excellent work will continue to find the audiences it deserves," she wrote.
 
The note also announced that Dir./Affiliate Solutions HEIDI ORINGER has been promoted to Exec. Dir./Business Strategy, Programming and Distribution and Sr. Mgr./Business Development ABE VELEZ has been promoted to Dir./Business Development and Strategy.
