Congratulations to LIL NAS X and COLUMBIA RECORDS whose single, "Old Town Road," has officially broken the record for the longest running #1 hit of all time on the Hot 100 at 17 weeks -- and counting, FADER reports.
"Old Town Road" broke the previous record, jointly held by LUIS FONSI and DADDY YANKEE's "Despacito," and MARIAH CAREY and BOYZ II MEN's "One Sweet Day."
LIL NAS X's debut single first hit #1 in APRIL, and has since seen remixes with BILLY RAY CYRUS, YOUNG THUG and MASON RAMSEY, and RM (of BTS). It has also picked up a diamond certificate, the first since ELTON JOHN's "Candle In The Wind" to achieve the certification while at the top of the BILLBOARD Hot 100.
